• Quick rule: add the length and width of your room in metres; the result in centimetres is a good chandelier diameter. A 3.5 x 4 m room suits about 75 cm, so 5 or 8 lights.

• Low ceilings (2.4 to 2.7 m): choose the semi flush 4, 5 or 6 light versions.

• Above a dining table: choose a diameter around half to two thirds of the table width, hung 75 to 85 cm above the top.

• Bedsides, entries and nooks: the compact 3 light pendant.
